• He was admitted to the Banaras Hindu University hospital on April 30 due to health complications, where he was under medical care.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed their deep condolences on his demise.
• In his tribute, PM Modi said Baba Shivanand's lifelong devotion and sadhana to yoga served as an enduring inspiration for generations.
• Baba Shivanand was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2022 for his significant service to society through the promotion of yoga.
