India's first e-waste eco park

  • The Delhi government is going to set up India's first e-waste eco park in Holambi Kalan.
  • This is a big step towards sustainable electronic waste management.
  • This park will be spread over 11.4 acres. It will be able to process 51,000 metric tonnes of e-waste every year.
  • It will manage all the 106 e-waste categories listed under the 2022 e-waste management rules.
  • The project involves an initial investment of Rs 150 crore. The operational budget will be over Rs 325 crore.
  • The revenue generation is expected to reach around Rs 350 crore. This will help build a strong recycling economy.
  • Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the project supports the circular economy. He stressed the importance of converting waste into resources.
