J.C. Daniel Award,2023

  • Noted filmmaker Shaji N Karun has been selected for the J C Daniel Award 2023.
  • The award recognises his lifetime contribution to Malayalam cinema.


  • The award is the highest honour in Malayalam cinema instituted by the state government.
  • The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation and a statuette.
  • TV Chandran, who is the first recipient of the award, chaired the jury.
