World Food India 2025

  • World Food India 2025 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 25 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
  • The event was described as the largest ever, with participation from over 90 countries and over 2,000 exhibitors.


  • New Zealand and Saudi Arabia were selected as partner countries, while Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Russia were selected as focus countries.
  • India was listed as the largest producer of milk, onions, and pulses, and the second-largest producer of rice, wheat, sugarcane, and vegetables.
  • India is the largest producer of milk, contributing 25% of global milk supply, and is also a major producer of coarse grains.


  • Modi emphasized that the food processing sector has received $7.33 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) over the past decade.
