Namaste Scheme

  • On World Environment Day 2025, the “Waste Picker Enumeration App” was launched in New Delhi by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) under the Namaste Scheme.
  • This digital initiative reaffirms the Government’s commitment to environmental justice and dignity of Safai Karmacharis.


  • This initiative was launched under the expanded Namaste Scheme, aimed to enumerate 2.5 lakh waste pickers across the country.
